Based in Irvine, CA, Cosemi Technologies is the first fabless GaAs and InGaAs optical component semiconductor company. Since 2006, Cosemi has been a leading supplier of high volume, high performance, low cost photodiodes. Cosemi’s GaAs photodiode and InGaAs photodiode product lines support data speeds ranging from 1G to 10G bits per second. A photodiode, also known as a photo sensor or photodetector, is often paired with a VCSEL (vertical cavity semiconductor emitting laser) to create fiber optic receiver and transmitter modules called a ROSA and TOSA. Together these two optical semiconductor components are essential in enabling fiber optic communication with copper based electronics.
